The TRC classic car collection does not show their cars too often as we are always busy with other hobbies.
But Reading School asked us to show some of their cars at their fund raising Fayre on Saturday 12th May.
Only too glad to oblige we took along a Escort RS Turbo series 2, and a Sierra Cosworth which we had literally only just acquired!
So up early Saturday morning to move the cars around to allow our 2 show cars to be removed from storage. A good polish, a drop of fuel, and we were off.
A reasonable dry day, saw around 20 classic cars turn up for the event. There was a Land Rover display, showing new cars and also a few moderns. All in all a good turn out for a fund raiser.
Unfortunately as the show closed the weather turned against us. The rain poured, sending the crowds running for shelter, and the classic cars running home.
However, as we sat in traffic on the way home, I looked to the right of me.
There sat a 20/25 Rolls in front, our mint RS Turbo, and I looked through the large Whale tail spoiler of my Cosworth to see an original Ford GT 40 behind me….
Not so bad after all, I thought!
