Lancaster

Good news from Canada, a further Lancaster Bomber has been rebuilt and is now running.

The plane cannot fly as yet.

With the large amount of paperwork to complete it could take years.

The Lancaster FM159 joins East Kirbys ‘Just Jane’ NX611 in being able to run and taxi.

The world has only 2 No flying Lancasters, the Battle of Britain Memorial flights warbird, and Canadas FM213 based at Hamilton.

The sad news this year is the death of Fred Panton.

Fred is one of the two brothers who managed to save and rebuild  Lancaster NX611 ‘Just Jane’.

The East Kirby  based Lancaster performs taxi runs, for paying visitors to ride in her.

The base has a very good museum as well.

The business will continue as usual.’
